Briefly explain your role with Close Brothers Business Finance?
As Broker Relationship Manager for the North-West, my role is to manage and develop relationships with both existing and new brokers in the region. I work closely with Credit and Operations colleagues to ensure all broker requests are managed efficiently, resulting in a seamless experience.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
The variety day to day and talking to Brokers. I enjoy working on different types of assets, whether it’s a deal for an expensive car or construction equipment they all have their own intricacies. To facilitate the deals, I get to spend lots of time talking to brokers and finding solutions that suit both parties, which I find extremely rewarding.
How would you describe your work ethic?
Hard working and competitive. Coming from a sporting background there are always small wins to be had, it’s the 1% differences that separate people. That being said, it is important to establish a balance of work and play!
What keeps you busy in your spare time?
If I’m not watching it, I’m playing it. I enjoy all things sport, particularly rugby, golf, and cricket. I spend most of my winter playing rugby across the UK, and the summer on the Links at Formby Golf Club.
Tell us something about you that not a lot of people know?
After I graduated from University, I spent some time playing rugby professionally. It was a very enjoyable time that gave me great opportunities both to play with and meet some great people, and to travel to different countries including Canada, New Zealand, and Fiji. However, there is a price to pay on the body. After a short stint it was time to transition into work whilst playing on a part time basis. I am now playing for Sale FC in National One so will be spending my Saturdays travelling to various parts of the UK.
