Close Brothers Asset Finance sponsors first ICAS conference since five year deal announced

Close Brothers Asset Finance is proud to be named the main sponsor of the ICAS Insolvency & Restructuring Conference that will be held at Gleneagles on 22 and 23 November.

Although the company has sponsored this conference for four years running, it will be the first time it has done so since securing a five year sponsorship deal with ICAS in June 2016.

Commenting on the deal, Colin Swanston, managing director, Glasgow Transport division, said: “We are delighted to be the Insolvency & Restructuring Community Partner and are immensely proud to have established such a close working relationship with ICAS, who are the world’s first professional body of chartered accountants, formed in 1854, not long before our own formation in 1878.”

“Through our sponsorship of the conference, we will continue to work in partnership with ICAS to provide solutions and services not only for ICAS members, but their members’ clients as well.”

Anton Colella, Chief Executive of ICAS, said: “We are delighted that Close Brothers Asset Finance is our partner and main sponsor of this year’s Insolvency & Restructuring Conference. Our insolvency and restructuring community is very important to ICAS and we look forward to working with Close Brothers Asset Finance over the next five years as we continue to grow our offering to our community.”

Close Brothers Asset Finance’s James Waterson will open the conference, providing his views on the current political and economic landscape of Scotland, the UK and Europe before turning his focus to the impact of where residual uncertainty - driven by recent political and economic change and upheaval - leaves business owners, their employees and customers.

He will also speak about the critical role finance for the SME market plays in ensuring a healthy economy, and provide examples of Close Brothers Asset Finance’s track record of lending through all economic cycles while also supporting SMEs through various initiatives, including its SME apprenticeship programme.
