Close Brothers businesses win gold in Leasing World Awards

Close Brothers Asset Finance and Close Brothers Leasing were awarded ‘Lessor of the Year’ and ‘Green Lessor of the Year’ awards respectively at this year's Leasing World Awards.

The prestigious award ceremony held on October 3rd in One Whitehall Place, London, celebrated the importance and outstanding work of leasing firms throughout the UK.

This year’s competition saw a large number of prominent businesses enter the awards and during the night, both Close Brothers Asset Finance and Close Brothers Leasing were named as leaders throughout their categories.

Close Brothers Asset Finance was named ‘Lessor of the Year’, which recognises the contribution to leasing and development of funding initiatives throughout the UK, after beating competitors Aldermore Asset Finance and HSBC Equipment Finance.

Mike Randall, who accepted the award on behalf of Close Brothers Asset Finance, said, “Over the years we have worked with a number of customers and our aim has always been to deliver a unique funding package, tailored to suit each individual business need.

“We are thrilled to receive the ‘Lessor of the Year’ award and I believe it is testament to the team’s hard work and determination. The judges must have been impressed with the case study we submitted in which we assisted BM Coaches secure a £2million structured refinance facility to fund their aspirations for growth and a further £100,000 in working capital – all within 48 hours of his enquiry.”

Close Brothers Leasing also took home the award for ‘Green Lessor of the Year’ on the night. Acknowledging the rapid growth of the renewable energy market, Close Brothers Leasing developed specialist ‘green’ teams who have helped provide funding for projects such as on shore wind farms and waste-to-energy plants which depend heavily on their assets.

Accepting the award on behalf of Close Brothers Leasing, Paul Bartley added, “We’re delighted to have been awarded ‘Green Lessor of the Year’ as an acknowledgement for providing clean, green funding solutions. Having provided over £40million of funding solutions to date throughout the UK, we are excited for the upcoming projects we have over the next 12months.”
