One of the fastest organically grown enterprises
Haulier Group were established in May 2011 and now owns and manages private equity firms in the haulage and manufacturing arena. Haulier Group provides UK and European services, from traction only to full service tailored specialist distribution.
Over recent months the business has expanded their network and grown to operating 64 units over five depots and plan to expand rapidly over the next six months.
Through their network, Haulier Group provides a full range of services within the transport sector including full franchise territory work for sub-contract hauliers, mainstream subcontracting work, business development and sales services, truck and trailer rental, recovery services, HGV MOT preparation and testing and transport management services.
Two major challenges needed to be addressed
The group were looking to expand rapidly and wanted to work with a lender who could partner them on their journey. Being new to the industry the haulage company had two main challenges, not only were they a newly formed business who were looking to expand rapidly, but due to their lack of borrowing history, sourcing finance in order to meet their business development strategy was proving to be difficult with a number of lenders in the market.
A different approach from other market lenders
Haulier Group approached Close Brothers Asset Finance in early 2013 and following a meeting with Nick Young, Regional Sales Manager in the Transport division, to discuss their business strategy Close Brothers were able to offer a tailored, flexible finance package where secured funding to the value of £1 million was agreed and put in place.
The solution Close Brothers were able to offer enabled Haulier Group to deliver their vision for growth and allowed them to expand their business through purchasing more haulage units in order to meet client demand.
A quick turnaround allowed us to move ahead with our plans
“Nick Young is a pleasure to deal with and the service we have received from Close Brothers Asset Finance has been fantastic. The turnaround time was extremely quick which allowed us to move ahead with our plans to buy more haulage units and grow as a business incredibly quickly”.
Haulier Group now have an annual turnover in excess of £8.7 million. They have grown to operate 64 units over five depots within 30 months and plan to expand to 86 units within the next six months. The expansion has allowed Haulier Group to offer employment to over 100 families. With their strategy to continue to grow Haulier Group hope to become the largest freight company in the South East.
