New printer will increase production speed
Taylor Bloxham Ltd is a family-run business that has been a leader in the print industry for over 75 years. Experts in Litho, ultra high-definition print, digital print, large format, print finishing and augmented reality, the company is always looking at and investing in the latest technologies to ensure high quality print for its customers.
Against the back drop of an industry where traditional sectors such as print media are in structural decline, Taylor Bloxham came to the realisation that to survive in the industry, a strategy of cost cutting combined with product innovation was required.
Improved technology supports workload
The company was seeking funding to support the purchase of a new KBA B1 Press. This would replace two presses the customer was operating. In recent times “a two out, one in” replacement approach has become the normal upgrade path for print companies as technology improves with running speed. The next generation presses are easily able to cope with increased workloads.
Known to Close Brothers Asset Finance since 2010, Taylor Bloxham’s CEO, Robert Lockwood, met with Paul Philbrick, Sales Director, Close Brothers Asset Finance to discuss available finance options to facilitate the purchase of the new printer.
Since becoming CEO at Taylor Bloxham in 2016, Robert has driven a number of key initiatives which have resulted in improved trading in 2017 and the final stage of this process is to replace two ageing Heidelberg presses with the new KBA press.
Continued growth from investment
Having reviewed the company’s accounts, Paul advised that the most suitable finance solution for Taylor Bloxham would be a Hire Purchase product over a 60 month term with the option to purchase the asset fully at the end of the term. It was clear that the business would continue to grow with this investment.
Robert Lockwood said: “It can be hard to stay competitive in this industry but the new printer will allow us to remain at the forefront. We will make significant cost savings on maintenance as well as labour and overtime.
“Working with Paul and the team at Close Brothers has been a smooth and speedy process and it is evident that they really understand the print sector.”
