CLOSE Brothers Asset Finance ("CBAF") has scooped the coveted 'SME Champion of the Year' award at the 2013 Leasing World Awards, held at One Whitehall Place, London on Wednesday 2nd October
The awards seek to recognise the leasing industry's top achievers, and CBAF saw off stiff competition from Aldermore Asset Finance, Investec Asset Finance, State Securities, United Trust Bank and 1pm to take home the SME Champion Award.
Judges were impressed with the award submission from CBAF; which included details of their participation in the Regional Growth Fund, loan book growth and the subsequent outcomes for specific customers, including increased turnover and job creation. Mike Randall, CEO of CBAF said: "SME Champion of the Year is an accolade that we are delighted to receive. "It's an acknowledgement of how hard we’ve been working to help small and medium sized businesses access finance in what remains an incredibly tough trading environment.
"Our most recent customer satisfaction survey shows that 95% are happy with the service, 83% believe we tailor our products to meet their specific needs and 79% class themselves as a loyal customer. We're very proud of the fact that our customers view us as a true business partner.
"Our business centres around building close working relationships with our customers, taking the time to understand their business requirements before building an entirely bespoke business solution. We're able to be flexible and creative in our approach, even funding against assets that other lenders wouldn't look at, things like shop fittings, beauty or catering equipment.
"This is a pivotal time for the leasing industry, as it starts to move towards economic recovery. There's a huge opportunity for us to support SMEs and we are looking forward to seeing what the next 12 months bring," he added.
