Manchester Print Service Limited (MPS) are a specialist wide format and oversize print company based in Greater Manchester.  Since incorporation by the two founding directors in 2010, the company have taken on 7 staff and continue to grow.  MPS offer a range of specialist display, signage and POS printed products which are printed on a variety of substrates ranging from paper, board and canvas to glass and plastic.

Growing demand

MPS required finance to upgrade their main wide format / flat bed printing press.  They also wanted to recruit additional staff and safeguard existing staff to ensure they could meet current demand.  The machinery dealer had worked with Close Brothers Asset Finance in the past and MPS Directors Lee Egan and Andy Lambert sought advice from Joseph Hall in the Print division.  Joseph quickly realised that MPS were eligible for a grant from the Regional Growth Fund.  They were looking to take on additional staff and protect existing job roles and so met the criteria for an RGF grant.  The grant application was successful and additional financial support from a Hire Purchase agreement was approved to further aid the cash flow of the company.

An effortless transaction

As the company already had a good relationship with Close Brothers and both parties understood each others needs and processes, the installation of the upgraded machinery was smooth and stress free.  The company now have a machine in situ with twice the capacity of the outgoing machine whilst also being able to offer print on a wider range of formats and substrates.

With the financial support in place, two existing technician posts were safeguarded whilst one more additional job was also created.  This in turn would support the additional capacity and customer demand.

Looking forward

MPS are now well positioned to continue to grow their business with increased quality and decreased lead times.  They have a wider product offering for their customers and future plans are to move to larger premises in the coming months as company continues to thrive and prosper.

Lee Egan, MPS Director, said: “With the financial advice and support from Close Brothers Asset finance, we are now able to take our plans for growth forward.  We already had a good working relationship with Close Brothers, so working with them again on this recent requirement meant a smooth and stress free installation.  We now have machinery in place with double the capacity of anything previously installed and this allows us to offer our customers a wider range of print solutions.  We look forward to our future plans for the business and know that Close Brothers are always on hand to advise on any financial needs.  They have always tailored any financial packages to match our needs.  Here’s to a long and prosperous working relationship with Close Brothers.  We would definitely recommend them.”
