We are a part of Close Brothers Group plc

Close Brothers Asset Finance was founded in 1987


Since then we have grown and expanded, and now have multiple offices across the UK including our head office in Wimbledon, as well as offices in Chester, Burton, Glasgow, Sidcup and Manchester.

Just like in 1987, we remain focused on markets and services we know and understand. We have developed long-term relationships with our customers to fully understand their intricate business operations in order to support their long term growth.

Our principles

We are committed to helping our customers make the right financial decisions. We base our lending decisions on the overall health and plans for the business – not just a credit rating. But we’re careful lenders too, a decision that fails to take account of risk factors and wider market forces is not in anyone’s interest. With local teams throughout the UK and Ireland, we can respond quickly to your requests for information and lending decisions. In fact, we aim to give you a decision within days, sometimes hours.

We have policies and training in place to ensure our staff can identify vulnerable customers and that they are treated fairly in our interaction with them. This remains an area of focus for our customer forums and through regular thematic reviews of our conduct.


We recognise that our suppliers are a key part of the service we provide to our customers, and are committed to treating them fairly. We are therefore pleased to maintain our Corporate Certification for Ethical Procurement from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (“CIPS”).
