International Asset Finance Network Awards: CEO of the Year

Neil has worked in asset finance for three decades and has done much to not only increase the size of Close Brothers Asset Finance’s loan book (which currently stands at £1.9 billion), but also driven business development; raised already high employee engagement, and promoted more diversity among his workforce.

In accepting the award, Neil stated: "I am absolutely delighted to have won this award, but it is the businesses that have made it happen. Our people are experts in their fields and they have a passion for what they do; they want our customers to succeed."



Under Neil’s guidance, the business has:

• Re-platformed its end-to-end business processes
• Overseen the establishment of a new business in Germany
• Worked with the Road Haulage Association to tackle the acute shortage of HGV drivers
• Launched a training academy for his sales teams,
• Worked with SMEs to help them manage CO2 emissions targets.
• Continued supporting the manufacturing and engineering apprenticeship scheme
