What do you like most about working for Close Brothers Asset Finance?

The best thing about this company is its people, everyone is really friendly and willing to support one another, even senior management and CEOs are really open and accessible. You just don’t get that in other companies.


How would you describe the culture at Close Brothers Asset Finance?

Walking into Close Brothers Asset Finance was like a breath of fresh air compared to other companies I’ve worked for. The culture is really inclusive and there is a healthy atmosphere of collaboration and support.


What would you say to someone who is thinking of applying for a role with Close Brothers Asset Finance?

Do it, you won’t regret it, Close Brothers Asset Finance is a great place to work with a lovely ethos and even better people.


Is being part of a diverse and inclusive business important to you? If yes, why?

It is incredibly important to me, as a gay man, I want to feel as if I am in a business that both supports and accepts me for who I am. Close Brothers has a great level of support for colleagues in the LGBTQIA+ community.


What has been the biggest change in the business you have witnessed since joining?

I haven’t been with Close Brothers Asset Finance for very long but I can already see our technology is improving, making the experience of our customers better and streamlining our internal processes. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the next 12 months hold.


What opportunities for progression and development have you had?

Close Brothers Asset Finance run a lot of internal courses to help develop your skillsets, I’ve sat in many including one that taught you how to build your personal brand and another that helped develop Microsoft Excel skills.

How has Close Brothers Asset Finance supported your career development?

My line manager has consistently supported my career development from day one, she is constantly helping me find development opportunities and ensuring I have time set aside to increase my skill set in order to progress my career.


What exposure do you have in your role to other areas of the business?

I work with other areas of the business on a daily basis, this again speaks to the collaborative nature of Close Brothers Asset Finance. All teams work well together, sharing ideas and supporting each other, no matter which area of the business you are in.


What initiatives is the business currently working on that are important to you?

I think our CSR initiative is really important, it allows our people to raise money for important causes which is often matched by the business. The fundraising can be really enjoyable as well, for example we had Singstar in our office last year and a table football tournament!


And finally, what do you do to unwind from the rigours of your role?

I enjoy travelling with my partner, our goal is to see as many places as possible, it also allows us to unwind and destress, whilst learning about a new culture!
