Customer background
Our customer specialises in the hire and sales of forklifts, including very narrow aisle (VNA) forklifts, reach trucks and counter-balance forklifts. As well as selling and renting, the business has an onsite maintenance department.
Opportunity
The firm were looking for help in financing several new forklifts.
Solution
A flexible solution for our customer was selected because it was unknown whether the new forklifts would be sold or simply leased out in the future.
Adam Durney, Area Sales Manager for our Manufacturing team was more than happy to put together the financial package, with three of the new forklifts put on stocking finance, which has many benefits for both the end customer and the dealer.
The dealer benefits from having forklift trucks in stock in their showroom to show potential customers, reducing delivery lead times and increasing sales. The customer benefits from being able to see the forklift before purchase as well as a quicker turnaround time.
The remaining four forklifts were financed using Hire Purchase, which has enabled the business to acquire their new forklifts and spreading the cost by paying for them in instalments over the agreed term.
Outcome
Thanks to the flexible solution from Close Brothers Asset Finance, our customer has the time to decide what to do with their new stock while being safe in the knowledge they’ve secured the new forklifts at a time when delivery lead times are delayed across the industry.
