Uniting the world to tackle climate change - 31 October to 12 November 2021.

What is COP26?

COP26 is the world’s most significant summit on climate change and in 2021 it’s being hosted in Glasgow.

COP26 is critical because it’s when countries are asked to set out more ambitious goals for ending their contribution to climate change under the Paris Agreement.

Tackling climate change is the biggest challenge facing our generation and the transition to clean energy is critical to help us achieve the goal of reaching net zero by 2050.

This is the 26th summit, attended by the countries that signed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) – a 1992 treaty that binds signatories to find ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions globally in an equitable way.

Close Brothers Group has put together a COP26 Resource Hub. They will be monitoring announcements at COP26 and will be providing short updates for the key announcements so keep checking back for update throughout the conference.
